Social Media Breakfast Ottawa wants to help you do this by bringing you interesting, entertaining and timely speakers along with lots of real networking time over our (mostly) monthly breakfasts.

We'll keep the event to 90 minutes, focusing on providing an opportunity for attendees to meet each other. To spark conversation and discussion, we're pleased to welcome a guest speaker.

Who's speaking at Breakfast 21?

All the way from the UK, we've invited David Nicholson, a VP of Production from the Computer Games Industry to join us.

Having spent the last (cough) years playing computer games and the last 13 years making them, David is fascinated by how the rise in 'gaming' as a concept has reached such a wide audience. The recent explosion of 'social gaming' has taught the entire industry many lessons. David will share his experience and lessons learned, hopefully leaving you with insights, thoughts and questions that will benefit your own efforts with social media.

About David

David NicholsonDavid is an executive from the Games Industry with experience in both large corporations and running his own small business -- from start-ups to turn-arounds. Working in areas from commercial to creative and from strategic to production, David has seen and tried many different approaches, some successful, some less so.

David created one of Electronic Arts first 'experience extending' web destinations around the hugely successful FIFA franchise (largely built right here in Canada) and he's also helped shape the online strategy for people like Games Workshop, Electronic Arts and Atari.

Most recently EVP of Product Development for a 'freemium web games' developer and publisher, David is supremely excited by the impact that social media is having on the games industry.

Want to join us? Please register in the ticketing area above. We look forward to seeing you in March!

SMBOttawa

SMBOttawa has been organized and hosted by Simon Chen, Rob Lane and Ryan Anderson since 2008. SMBOttawa's breakfast networking events are inspired and have evolved from the Social Media Breakfast concept started by Bryan Person in Boston:

". . . as an almost-monthly event where social media experts and newbies alike come together to eat, meet, share, and learn. Marketers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, bloggers, podcasters, new media fanatics, and online social networkers are all welcome to attend."
